D Mag is a maggoticidal and antiseptic wound-care spray for dogs, used to kill and repel maggots from infested wounds while providing antiseptic protection to support healing.
Composition: Gamma Benzene Hexachloride (an organochloride insecticide), Proflavine Hemisulphate and Cetrimide (antiseptics), with excipients and propellants.
Indications: Maggot infestation in wounds; superficial wounds, surgical incisions, lacerations and puncture wounds; supportive antiseptic care for infected wounds.
Dosage: Apply 1-4 times daily depending on wound severity, or as directed by the vet.
Directions for use: Clip fur around the wound, clean with a diluted antiseptic (e.g., povidone-iodine), then spray from about 5-10cm away to cover the wound evenly. Let it dry naturally; prevent licking with an Elizabethan collar if needed.
How does the medicine work? : Gamma benzene hexachloride kills maggots on contact, while proflavine and cetrimide provide antiseptic action against surface bacteria, together reducing infection risk and supporting a cleaner healing environment.
Possible side effects: For external use only - do not allow the pet to ingest the spray. Avoid contact with eyes. Discontinue and consult the vet if irritation occurs.
