Griptol-N is a broad-spectrum antibacterial and antiprotozoal suspension used to control infectious diarrhoea in dogs caused by bacteria (Gram-positive and Gram-negative) and protozoa such as coccidia and giardia.
Composition: Each 5ml contains Levofloxacin Hemihydrate 100mg and Ornidazole 200mg in an aqueous base.
Indications: Infectious gastrointestinal disturbances - diarrhoea, dysentery, malabsorption and dysbiosis caused by contaminated food, water or faeces; coccidial and giardial infections.
Dosage: 3-7ml per 25kg body weight, twice daily, for 3-5 days, or as directed by the vet.
Directions for use: Shake well before use. Use the measuring/feeding spoon provided; give orally directly or mixed into a small amount of food.
How does the medicine work? : Levofloxacin is a broad-spectrum antibacterial that disrupts bacterial DNA replication; Ornidazole targets protozoal parasites (such as Giardia and coccidia) - together addressing both bacterial and protozoal causes of infectious diarrhoea.
Possible side effects: Use with caution in pregnant or nursing dogs. Safe for use in puppies per label guidance, but confirm dosing with the vet. Mild vomiting is possible.
