Epiotic Advanced is a gentle, pH-neutral ear cleanser that removes wax, dirt and cellular debris while helping prevent bacteria and yeast from adhering to the ear canal, making it suitable for routine cleaning or for pets prone to otitis externa.
Composition: Salicylic Acid 0.2%, Disodium EDTA, Docusate Sodium, PCMX (Chloroxylenol), and a monosaccharide complex (L-Rhamnose, D-Galactose, D-Mannose).
Indications: Routine ear cleaning and wax removal; supportive care for pets prone to otitis externa (allergic/atopic dogs, swimmers, floppy-eared breeds); pre-treatment cleaning before other prescribed ear medications.
Dosage: For routine cleaning: 2-3 times per week to daily. Before other ear treatments: clean 30 minutes prior to applying prescribed ear medication, or as directed by the vet.
Directions for use: Shake well before use. Apply liberally into the ear canal, gently massage the base of the ear, then wipe the inner ear flap clean with a cotton ball or cloth.
How does the medicine work? : Salicylic acid helps clear dead skin cells and dries the ear canal to discourage the moist environment microbes need to thrive, while the glycotechnology complex helps prevent bacteria and yeast from adhering to the skin surface.
Possible side effects: Generally well tolerated; do not use in ears with a ruptured eardrum.
