Terbopet M is a dual-action topical cream that treats fungal skin infections such as ringworm and Malassezia dermatitis while controlling the itching, redness and inflammation that often accompany them.
Composition: Terbinafine HCl 1% w/w (antifungal) and Mometasone Furoate 0.1% w/w (corticosteroid).
Indications: Dermatophytosis (ringworm) in dogs and cats; Malassezia dermatitis; otitis externa in dogs with fungal involvement; general fungal skin infections with associated inflammation.
Dosage: Apply a thin layer to the affected skin twice daily, or as directed by the vet, continuing for the prescribed duration to prevent recurrence.
Directions for use: Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer directly to the skin. Prevent the pet from licking the treated area until absorbed.
How does the medicine work? : Terbinafine inhibits the fungal enzyme squalene epoxidase, blocking ergosterol synthesis and killing the fungus, while concentrating rapidly in skin, hair and nails; Mometasone reduces the accompanying inflammation and itching.
Possible side effects: For external use only; avoid licking. As a corticosteroid-containing product, follow the vet's guidance on treatment duration to avoid prolonged unsupervised use.
