Beaphar Kalk is a calcium and mineral supplement that supports healthy bone and teeth development in dogs and cats – especially useful for growing puppies/kittens, pregnant or lactating pets, and seniors with reduced bone density.
Composition: Calcium (from dicalcium phosphate & calcium carbonate), Vitamin D3, magnesium, phosphorus, with vegetable extracts and seaweed algae.
Indications: Calcium deficiency support; growth support in puppies/kittens; increased calcium needs during pregnancy/lactation; general bone and dental health maintenance, including for pets on homemade diets.
Dosage: General guide – small dogs (up to 10kg): 1/2 tablet/day; medium dogs (10- 25 kg): 1 tablet/day; large dogs (25kg+): 2 tablets/day. Always confirm against the current pack label or vet advice, as some regional packs specify slightly different bands.
Directions for use: Give whole, crushed over food, or crumbled into meals, once daily.
How does the medicine work? Supplies bioavailable calcium along with vitamin D3 (which aids calcium absorption), magnesium and phosphorus to maintain the calcium-phosphorus balance needed for healthy bone mineralisation.
Possible side effects: Over-supplementation beyond the recommended dose can cause hypercalcemia. Do not combine with other calcium or multivitamin products without veterinary guidance.
