Corise Opthocare GP (Gatifloxacin & Prednisolone Acetate) Eye Drops for Dogs & Cats (5ml)

Opthocare GP combines an antibiotic and a corticosteroid to treat bacterial eye infections accompanied by inflammation, such as pink eye and scleritis, in dogs and cats.

Composition: Gatifloxacin 0.3% w/v (broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic) and Prednisolone Acetate 1% w/v (corticosteroid).

Indications: Bacterial eye infections such as pink eye (conjunctivitis), scleritis and uveitis, where inflammation accompanies the infection.

Dosage: As recommended by the vet - typically 1-2 drops in the affected eye(s), 2-3 times daily.

Directions for Use: Gently pull down the lower eyelid and instil the drops into the conjunctival sac, avoiding contact between the dropper tip and the eye.

How does the medicine work?: Gatifloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA replication (via DNA gyrase/topoisomerase IV), clearing the infection, while prednisolone acetate reduces the accompanying inflammation, redness and discomfort.

Possible side effects: Do not use in cases where a corneal ulcer is suspected without vet confirmation, since corticosteroids can worsen some types of corneal damage. Use strictly as directed by the vet.
