Opthocare KT combines an antibiotic and an NSAID to treat bacterial eye infections accompanied by inflammation and pain, such as conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers, and to support post-surgical eye care.
Composition: Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride 0.5% w/v (fluoroquinolone antibiotic) and Ketorolac Tromethamine 0.5% w/v (NSAID).
Indications: Bacterial conjunctivitis and keratitis with inflammation; corneal ulcers; post-surgical eye pain and inflammation.
Dosage: Instil 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s) 2-3 times daily (at 8-12 hour intervals), or as directed by the vet, typically for 5-7 days.
Directions for Use: Gently pull down the lower eyelid and instil the drops into the conjunctival sac. If using multiple eye medications, wait at least 5 minutes between applications.
How does the medicine work?: Moxifloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA replication, clearing the infection, while ketorolac (an NSAID) blocks prostaglandin synthesis to reduce pain, redness and swelling in the eye.
Possible side effects: For veterinary use only; store away from direct sunlight. Complete the full course as directed by the vet.
