Aptiquik is an appetite-boosting syrup that uses Buclizine, an antihistamine that increases appetite by stimulating glucose receptors in the brain, formulated for anorexic, underweight or debilitated dogs.
Composition: Each ml contains 12mg Buclizine Hydrochloride in a flavoured syrup base.
Indications: Anorexia (loss of appetite); underweight, weak or debilitated dogs; dogs showing no interest in food.
Dosage: 5ml per 10kg body weight, twice daily, or as directed by the vet. Works best combined with a good exercise/activity routine.
Directions for use: Give directly or mixed into food, twice daily. Shake well before use and protect from light.
How does the medicine work? : Buclizine, though an antihistamine, has a secondary effect of stimulating glucose receptors in the brain that drive hunger signals, increasing the dog's appetite over the course of treatment.
Possible side effects: Do not use in dogs with epilepsy, kidney or liver impairment. Should not be given to cats. Ask the vet before use in pregnant or lactating female dogs.
